Eni awarded RINA the drilling and completion contract for Maha field exploration


We will provide inspection and engineering services to support Maha-2 and other exploration activities

In 2019, Eni was awarded the West Ganal exploration block (currenty, Eni as operator with a 70% interest) located in the Kutei Basin, offshore Indonesia. The block includes the Maha discovery.

On April 2021, Eni West Ganal Ltd. awarded the Consortium PT RINA Indonesia – PT Sertco Quality (in an 80:20 work portion split) a contract to provide Inspection and Engineering services for Drilling & Completion to support Maha-2 and other exploration activities in the area for the next three years.

Maha field is located in West Ganal concession, +/- 104 km from the East Kalimantan coast in a water depth ranging between 700 – 1,200 m, and covering an area of about 1,129 square kilometers in the Makassar Strait offshore East Kalimantan, adjoining the Eni operated Muara Bakau and East Sepinggan PSC Blocks. The West Ganal includes the Maha-1 discovery with gas resources estimated in excess of 600 Bscf (Billions of standard cubic feet of gas).
