Report generation in Shipping-KPI

Overview

BIMCO Shipping-KPI will during the next couple of weeks reinstate a core feature of the system, whereby users can export their performance data in a customised, consolidated report.

Upon releasing BIMCO Shipping-KPI 2021 the new concept of benchmarking was introduced, and existing submissions had to be recalculated from rating to ranking.

The access to allow generation and printing of the KPI Benchmarking report is controlled by the “User Roles – User Permissions” found under the “My Company tab”.

At the same time, the new report generator was given an overhaul with an increased focus on customisation by adjusting the following key features:

  • Name and logo
  • Exclude own ships from ranking
  • User defined scope
  • User defined content

Name and logo

While this new feature may seem trivial, as the default option exported reports now includes an improved function for including the name and logo of the user company. Make sure to have the name correct and upload your company logo in the Company Details in the My Company section

Exclude own ships

This option allows user to exclude own ships from the benchmarking industry average. It has long been an option in the Shipping-KPI benchmarking tools and is now also part of the report option.

User defined scope

The new reporting scheme will allow users to narrow the report to a single ship in any specified time period – e.g., the tankers business unit in previous quarter. Ship scope may be either business unit or all ships, while time scope may be either specified by quarter, year-to-date, previous or rolling year

User defined content

BIMCO Shipping-KPI reports have previously been a simple extract of the information contained in the database. With the new user report generator, users will be able to insert comments to each KPI even in the generation phase. Content may also be narrowed down to specific KPI groups – e.g. Environmental KPIs.
