Bureau Veritas joins TCFD to support climate-related financial transparency

In April 2021, Bureau Veritas officially became a supporter of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

The TCFD was established in 2015 by the G20 Financial Stability Board (FSB) and is now composed of more than 2,000 organizations worldwide. Its goal is to develop recommendations on the financial transparency of companies with regard to climate change.

Its recommendations provide a common international framework that helps companies and financial sector players properly assess and quantify their exposure to climate risk. This, in turn, enables them to implement necessary strategies in their activities. More broadly, the aim is to make markets more efficient and to better equip economies to deal with climate change.

By publicly declaring support for the TCFD and its recommendations, companies demonstrate that they are taking action to build a more resilient financial system through climate-related disclosure.

This is fully in line with Bureau Veritas’ CSR strategy and sustainability expertise.
