Making Teekay history – virtually! Recapping the ‘Future Of’ summit

Coming together as one global Teekay family, across sea and shore and around the globe to foster and inspire ideas for Teekay’s future.
After spending much of 2020 working apart due to COVID-19, an idea emerged for a way to bring our colleagues back together, look towards the future, and re-ignite our #TeekaySpirit at the start of 2021. This idea came to fruition as a virtual summit that would make Teekay History by engaging colleagues across sea and shore, across all ranks, titles and fleets, and across the globe – all in one virtual space. And thus, the ‘Future Of’ Summit was born.
The ‘Future Of’ Summit was a three-day virtual experience where we looked ahead at the biggest challenges and opportunities facing our world, our industry, and our organization – to 2030 and beyond. Over three days, we came together to examine key challenges across the world and industry, while also identifying opportunities they present for Teekay’s future.
Topics at the Summit included:
- Energy Market Outlook
- The Future of Oceans
- Technology and the Future of Work
- Decarbonisation and GHG Regulations
- Leading with Purpose and many more
And of course, in true #TeekaySpirit, there was plenty of entertainment. Memories were made during our live DJ set, virtual magic show, and talent showcase – all delivered via the web into the homes of Teekay colleagues across the globe.
The ‘Future Of’ Summit was one for the history books! Even in a virtual setting, the energy our colleagues brought to the Summit was palpable. We got the chance to learn from each other, hear from our senior leaders, and showcase projects from across the company.
Overall, the ‘Future Of’ Summit saw more than 1,500 attendees from 43 countries across sea and shore, over 21 topics discussed, and hundreds of connections made through one-one meetings and the virtual platform’s chat feature.
We captured some of our success at the Summit in the recap video below. Take a look at some of the highlights of the event and feel the #TeekaySpirit shining through.
This was a tremendous effort from all of our colleagues. We would like to extend our thanks to all involved in bringing the summit to life and to those who participated. This is one of the many shining examples of how Teekay lives our values of teamwork and innovation, together.
