PaxOcean signs contract with Taiwan Navigation to build five Tugboats


PaxOcean’s PT. Graha Trisaka Industri has signed a newbuilding contract with Taiwan Navigation Co. Ltd. (“Taiwan Navigation”) for the construction of five Tugboats, two of which are fitted with Steerable Rudder Propellers and three fitted with Voith Schneider Propellers.

The signing ceremony conducted on 28 January 2021 marks a new partnership with Taiwan Navigation which has been awarded a 25-year long-term charter contract from CPC Corporation, Taiwan. The five tugboats will serve  the new LNG receiving terminal at the  Kwun Tong Industrial Port, which is currently under construction.

Based  on the Robert Allan design, each of the  five tugboats will have a bollard pull of 60 tonnes. They will be constructed at PaxOcean’s yard in Batam, Indonesia. The scheduled delivery of the five tugboats is  in Q4 2022.
