All five are 5,600 TEU container vessels, delivered in 2011 and 2012 directly into a ten-years’ charter. They are 275 metres long, 40 metres wide and with almost 44,000 kW they were capable of going 23 knots.
New bulbous bows, new propellers and boss cap fins will ensure that the vessels can save up to 50,000 tons of CO2 per year, exceeding the requirements of IMO’s Energy Efficiency Index (EEXI) and fulfilling the climate-goal roadmap for 2030. Additionally, the vessels’ combined fuel efficiency will save fuel costs in the range of three million USD per year.
A well-spent investment paving the way towards decarbonisation, fuel efficiency and future-compliant vessels!
