UPM selects nauticAi Desk™ for vessel chartering and operations

UPM – The Biofore Company, has chosen nauticAi Desk™ for its vessel cost follow-up and voyage planning. The decision to use nauticAi Desk comes after a thorough 6-month long Proof-of-Concept period, during which time the solution was thoroughly tested and configured to match UPMs commercial process.
“We are extremely happy to work with nauticAi and look forward to grab all the benefits this type of combined tracking and planning solution can bring us. We believe that by using Desk we can further improve our logistic cost efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of our bio-based products. We are also delighted by nauticAi’s responsiveness and IT-service level, which is second to none and ensures swift delivery of any special requests we may have,” says Ville Huovila, Manager Cargo Care, UPM Kymmene Corporation
Developed by Finnish maritime awareness provider nauticAi, Desk combines highly visual, timeline-based drag-and-drop voyage management and cost calculations with ship tracking, weather forecasts, automated operational quality assurance (BOQA) and ship performance monitoring.
“The combination of business data with external data sources creates a powerful tool to manage vessel logistics in a very transparent and efficient way and it is an honor for us to work with UPM on this solution. We see this project as a clear statement of the need for new and modern web-based collaborative tools in our maritime industry and look very much forward to seeing the full benefits this system can bring UPM,” says Capt. Henrik Ramm-Schmidt, CEO and founder of nauticAi
