Stowaway search requirements in Abidjan

New requirements on stowaway searches for vessels calling at the port of Abidjan, Ivory Coast take effect on 1 January 2021.

Club correspondents Ivory P&I advise us that the Autonomous Port of Abidjan have issued a circular that requires ships’ masters to carry out a systematic stowaway search prior to sailing and report to the Harbour Master.

Ivory P&I understands that any ship calling at Abidjan is to ensure an accredited security company is engaged to carry out a search and issue a report to the Harbour House before departure.
