Several actions have been launched to help those most in need – in partnership with recognized NGOs – including food distributions, toy collections and the donation of computers to young people to enable them to continue their remote learning.

The mobilization of the Group’s subsidiaries, its network of agencies and more than 200 staff members has given a global dimension to this solidarity commitment.

La Réunion Island

Staff members organized a toy drive in partnership with the “Le sourire de l’enfant” association for children in hospitals.

Australia

CMA CGM Australia and ANL staff members were mobilized to collect food products.

Canada

CMA CGM Canada launched in early December a sock collecting campaign for the homeless in partnership with Toe2Toe. 1,790 pairs of socks have been collected to date, a five-fold increase compared to 2019.

China

In partnership with FMY, the Chinese recycling platform specializing in donations of second-hand items, CMA CGM China has launched a major national collection of toys and clothes to be redistributed to the most underprivileged, partner NGOs or even for recycling.

Germany

CMA CGM Germany collaborated with the German Seafarers Mission on a project called “Christmas Container Box”. Staff members are invited to fill a cardboard box with gifts to enable sailors at sea to enjoy the festive season.

Guinea

CMA CGM Guinea organized a collecting campaign for underprivileged children.

Latvia

31 staff members of CMA CGM Latvia, Containerships Latvia and Riga Business Center prepared 31 gifts for vulnerable people as part of the “Santa’s Workshop” operation.

Lebanon

While the country was marked by the terrible explosion in the port of Beirut last August, the Foundation and the staff members of CMA CGM Lebanon have mobilized strongly for Christmas 2020.

2 solidarity operations were launched to bring together the Lebanese people and the Group’s staff members for vulnerable families.

• Share a Meal operations: 7000 mealswere shared to vulnerable families through 12 NGOs
• Gift of Hope operations: a total of 1000 gifts were distributed to the children through 7 NGOs, with the active participation of 20 staff members in charge of collecting, sorting, packing, labelling of the packages and distributed the gifts and meals to the beneficiaries.

Marseille, France

In Marseille, home to our Head Office, our CMA CGM Foundation has swung into action alongside non-profits to lead large-scale community outreach programs to help break down barriers and overcome loneliness after a year shaped by an unprecedented health, social and economic crisis.

THE TOY CONTAINER: a solidarity initiative, in partnership with Emmaus, that aims at collecting toys ensuring all children enjoy Christmas this year.

THE SHARING CALL: 40,000 meals distributed in partnership with the Food Bank and 12 staff members mobilized alongside Food Bank volunteers to help prepare the distribution of their 200 partner associations.

CONNECTIONS OF SUCCESS: donation of 65 computers to the “Ecole de la 2ème Chance” which accompanies unemployed youth and offers training towards a successful professional integration.​.

BOATS AND SMILES: donation of 250 CMA CGM JACQUES SAADÉ VILAC model boats to the students of the Parc Bellevue elementary school located less than one kilometer from the Headquarters.

Mozambique

A toy drive was organized among staff members for children in orphanages in Mozambique and Zambia.

Netherlands

Staff member took part in food and toy drive in partnership with 2 local NGOs, Speelgoedbank and Voedselbank.

Senegal

CMA CGM Senegal staff members donated toys in partnership with a local social center.

Spain

CMA CGM IBERICA organized the collecting of funds from staff members in support of the Spanish Red Cross to assist the victims of COVID-19.

Sweden

A collecting campaign among staff members made it possible to gather toys that will be given out at Christmas to families in need.

Tunisia

CMA CGM Tunisia organized a winter clothing collecting-campaign in partnership with a local NGO (ROTARACT TANIT). ​

United-States

CMA CGM America staff members in Norfolk, VA; Miami, FL; and Newport Beach, CA, recently held drives to support charitable programs designed to assist local children during the holidays.

Ghana

CMA CGM Ghana has initiated a major campaign in collaboration with Mama Happy Life Foundation (MAHLEF) to provide help for teenage mothers and their children. ​

​In Tema New Town, CMA CGM Ghana staff members came to help more than 200 beneficiaries with renovation and maintenance works at the MAHLEF Foundation, as well as with donations of food, clothing, personal care items, toys, and educational materials.
