Danelec shortlisted for Smart Shipping Award

We’re delighted to report that Danelec has been shortlisted in the Connectivity category of the SMART4SEA Awards 2021. The nomination is based on the ability of our DanelecConnet cloud infrastructure and Vessel Remote Server (VRS) to provide a low-cost, secure and reliable route into the world of maritime digitalisation and big data.

The SMART4SEA Awards 2021 will be decided by an online public poll, so please follow this link and give us your vote. Voting is open now and will close on 15th January 2021. The awards winners will be announced at the SMART4SEA Virtual Forum, an online event taking place on 16th February with focus on the latest developments in smart shipping including computing power, communication technology, ship design and big data.

There are plenty of reasons why Danelec deserves your vote for this exciting technology. DanelecConnect and the VRS can bring maritime digitalisation into the mainstream by giving more ship owners and operators a competitive edge with a simplified hardware and software solution for capturing vessel data and transmitting it to shore. The system is highly flexible and is available at much lower capital and lifetime costs of custom networks, making it the most affordable Maritime IoT solution available today.

DanelecConnect and the Vessel Remote Server (VRS) break down economic and operational barriers to maritime digitalisation by reusing a vessel’s IT infrastructure and non-intrusively tapping into existing networks, contributing to further reductions in the cost of equipment, installation and operation. Ultimately, a solution developed using our experience as the leading Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) manufacturer for 20 years, DanelecConnect and the VRS will help ships to operate more efficiently, and critically with lower impact on the environment.
