Inmarsat has won a national award recognising the excellence of its company secretarial team.

The Chartered Governance Institute (ICSA) Awards celebrate best practice in the delivery, oversight and reporting of governance. Inmarsat was announced as the Team of the Year at a virtual award ceremony on 26 November.

The award related to the extensive work carried out during the company’s acquisition last year by Connect Bidco Limited. The judging panel commented: “This was a standout nomination which described a team of just four people who had delivered a huge amount of work, including one of the largest public to private takeovers in UK corporate history.”

Alison Horrocks, Inmarsat’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer said: “I am delighted and proud that our team was selected as Team of the Year by the ICSA.  These awards recognise the important contribution company secretarial and governance teams make to an organisation and its success.  For our team to be recognised at the highest level is hugely exciting for us.”
