MOL car carrier saves castaway – One Survivor rescued off Thailand


Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that on September 22, the MOL-operated car carrier Primrose Ace rescued a castaway in Gulf of Thailand (about 30km off the west coast of Thailand).

Details of the rescue are as follows:

  • At 14:27 on September 22 (local time), the Primrose Ace, while underway from Sohar Port in Oman to Laem Chabang Port in Thailand, spotted a castaway, and safely rescued him at 16:13 on the same day.
  • At 16:50 on September 25, the vessel handed over the survivor to the local authorities at the Laem Chabang Port anchorage.
