Congratulations to Mike Bradshaw, Global Head of HSEQ, after being appointed as Chairperson of the UK Chamber of Shipping’s Safety Culture Working Group (SCWG).

Mike’s appointment by members of the SCWG is recognition for his expertise in safety culture, and for his work with the wider HSEQ team in driving an effective safety culture across V.Group.

The aim of the SCWG, which includes safety representatives from UK ship owning companies and others with expertise in safety, is to provide a forum to promote a safety culture, enshrining best practices and open and effective reporting.

Mike said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this role by my peers within the safety industry. While a safety culture is effectively implemented in many companies, there are indications that such a positive approach to implementation is not universal. A key aim of the SCWG will be to assist the industry make further strides in driving a safety culture that reduces the risk of accidents and injury.”
