Gizat has signed an agreement with Aura Air to bring an innovative smart air purity solution to the maritime market. This solution is capable purify indoor air from various pollutants and has proven a 99.9% effectiveness against COVID -19.

Gizat is planning to roll out new signed collaboration across commercial vessels and cruise ships in crew and passenger rooms cabin and indoor working areas onboard of the ships.
With the current COVID-19 situation, there is not only an immediate need to support crew welfare but also to enhance crew feelings and motivation to board on ships for long working periods.

The Aura system air purifying can also be viewed and analyzed remotely from shore side by ship’s operation officer to ensure a safe working environment.

COVID-19 and Aura
According to Gizat, the development of Aura came as a request from the SHIBA medical center who needed a device to purify indoor air from all kinds of bacteria and polluted hazards around the hospital facilities.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, demand was adjusted from system to purify air from the virus increased.

In August 2019, Aura Smart Air performed a trial in collaboration with The Department of General and Oncological Surgery at The Chaim Sheba Medical Centre in the implementation of air purifiers for the purpose of disinfecting and purifying the air from various pollutants.

According to a white paper published in July 2020, initial results showed significant ability for Aura to capture various bacteria.

Similar trial was held just recently in Greece [August 2020] for use of Sterionizer TM as COVID19 virus removal.

Trial was held by Medical School, University of Patras together with iwaterfood.gr and showed similar results where no detection of coronaviruses in air sample of the chamber after 30 min and significant decrease after 20 min after use of Sterionizer.

We all well know the Diamond Princess cruise ship case of a severe infection of the Coronavirus as it passed through the air conditioning system. According to The Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine there were 454 confirmed cases of Coronavirus onboard. Among the 3,711 passengers and crew onboard, there were 621 (17 per cent) symptomatic and asymptomatic people with positive COVID-19 tests.

Preventing similar spread of such a virus is vital to the wellbeing of commercial as well as cruise line’s staff and passengers and this has been the leading motivation of Gizat to collaborate with Aura air and introducing this unique product to the maritime world.
