COSCO SHIPPING “Yueyang-Shenzhen” Freight Train for Container Sea-rail Intermodal Transport Started Operation

On August 28, along with a long whistle, the first freight train running between Yueyang and Shenzhen for container sea-rail intermodal transport slowly moved out of Yueyang North Freight  Station. Operated  by COSCO SHIPPING Logistics, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING, the train is another successful case of COSCO SHIPPING implementing the strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hunan Provincial People’s Government to build a corridor for international freight transport.

Compared with previous river-sea intermodal transport, the sea-rail intermodal transport freight train can save at least seven days of delivery time, with exceptional time and cost advantages. Under normal operation, there will be one train every two days, and the annual freight volume is expected to exceed 6,000 TEU.
