Faroe Islands Artic Freezer Trawler to have freezing plant from Teknotherm

Tersan Shipyard in Turkey has signed a new contract for building an Arctic Freezer Trawler for P/F Havborg from Faroe Islands, and they have choosen to install cargo freezing system from Teknotherm in this new trawler.
The 87,40 meters long and 18 meters wide fishing vessel will be an advanced factory trawler arranged for triple trawling. It will be equipped with a fillet production factory deck, a shrimp processing line and a fishmeal fish oil plant providing huge capacity for handling pelagic species.
The cargo freezing system to be installed will have a capacity of freezing appr. 100 ton of fish products per 24 hrs., carried out by automatic plate freezers and blast freezers of IQF type.
Fish holds will be kept at -30°C by under deck head cooling coils.
The freezing machinery will have three screw compressors, and be based on re-circulation of ammonia as refrigerant.
Ammonia is a natural refrigerant leaving no long-term harm to the environment, neither to the ozone layer nor for the greenhouse effect.
We are also going to deliver a provision refrigeration system for one freezing room and one cold room to this vessel.
The vessel will be newbuild no. 1105 at Tersan, and the design is by Skipsteknisk – ST-119.
Delivery of vessel to owner is planned to be in the last quarter of 2022.
