The sailing vessel had damaged its rudder and was drifting into very bad weather when the Magellan received the rescue alert from the US Coast Guard. Once on the scene, the Magellan worked together with Ethane Sapphire, acting as a windbreak for the team onboard the Magellan fast rescue boat to expertly recover and safely transfer the two British mariners on board.
