Wärtsilä appoints Sushil Purohit as President of the Energy business

Mr Sushil Purohit (48), B.Sc. (Eng.), MBA, has been appointed President of Wärtsilä Energy, Executive Vice President, and member of the Board of Management of Wärtsilä Corporation, effective 3 August 2020. In this position, he is responsible for Wärtsilä’s Energy business globally and will report to President & CEO Mr Jaakko Eskola.The current Head of Wärtsilä Energy, Mr Marco Wirén, leaves Wärtsilä to become the CFO of Nokia Corporation, as announced earlier.
Mr Purohit joined Wärtsilä in 1998 as a sales support engineer and has since held several key sales and management positions in various geographies in the Energy business. As of January, Mr Purohit has led the Energy business in the Americas, which has recently become Wärtsilä’s most active area for power plant projects and services.
