Today is International Day of the Seafarer, and according to the International Maritime Organization – IMO it’s also the day of Seafarers 10th anniversary! Like previous years, the IMO highlights important themes based on current events and together with IMO and the global maritime community we would like to emphasize the importance of this year’s theme #SeafarersAreKeyWorkers. 2020 has indeed been an unusual year globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While many careers were jeopardized or put on pause due to the global shut down, Seafarers are on the frontline and play a vital role in maintaining a steady flow of the global supply chain even when the situation causes difficult working conditions.
