Oldendorff Carriers selects Veson Nautical’s Veslink IMOS platform

Leading Bulk Owner/Operator Implements Veson Platform to Modernize and Optimize Digital Workflows

Veson Nautical, the leading provider of commercial maritime software and services, and Oldendorff Carriers, one of the world’s foremost dry bulk operators, today announced Oldendorff’s selection of Veson’s Veslink IMOS Platform (VIP) as its chosen end-to-end solution for maritime operations.

Oldendorff normally operates a fleet of about 700 vessels, carrying 320 million metric tons of bulk and unitized cargo across the ocean each year. The company employs 4,000 people, spanning 18 offices worldwide.

In recent years, Oldendorff has experienced rapid growth, which made it difficult to maintain an effective on-premise infrastructure and data system across its global offices. Searching for a system that could grow at its pace of business, Oldendorff found the Veslink IMOS Platform (VIP).

“In fast changing markets that require a high degree of flexibility and a rapid delivery of solutions, business solutions must utilize modern technology” stated Fanny Heiden,  Projects Manager at Oldendorff. “Through our implementation of VIP, we hope to become more efficient, and become better in our work as we move away from manual, resource-intensive data entry processes to more value-added work. This will allow us to better use our data to make decisions and ensure safe and efficient voyage operations.”

Beyond internal optimization and data management, Oldendorff highlighted Veson’s capabilities for connection and integration as differentiators amongst other software providers in the maritime space. “VIP’s open architecture allows us to integrate our own applications as well as third party products,” continued Heiden, “Additionally, the close connection to many shipping customers delivers industry standards that will allow direct connection between Oldendorff and our various counterparties.”

“Oldendorff is a prominent leader in the global marine industry, and we are both proud and excited to welcome them into the Veson community,” stated John Veson, CEO and Founder of Veson Nautical. “We look forward to delivering exceptional value to the Oldendorff team and are eager to evolve our partnership alongside our product innovations in the future.”

“The impact of the VIP implementation is expected to be substantial; a cloud solution will help us to scale our software better to the changing demands of our company,” Continued Heiden. “We believe that Veson has aligned their strategy and company structure to consciously deliver value both to the industry and to Oldendorff.”
