Singapore advisory to Shipping Community on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus

On 29 January 2020, there was a confirmed case of a crew member with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus infection, who was working onboard a ship in Singapore waters.
2             The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) urges the shipping community to take precautionary measures, as well as to remain vigilant and adopt good hygiene practices at all times.
3             Ship crew who feel unwell, experience respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, shortness of breath) or feel feverish, should inform the Master of the ship immediately. The Master of the ship should then contact his ship’s agent and make the necessary arrangements to seek medical attention.
4             MPA will continue to implement temperature screening at all sea checkpoints, including ferry and cruise terminals, PSA Terminals and Jurong Port, for inbound travellers. In addition, new visitors with recent travel history in Hubei or with PRC passports issued in Hubei, will not be allowed entry into Singapore or transit through Singapore.
5             MPA will also continue to monitor the evolving situation and work closely with our partner agencies and the industry to implement additional measures if needed.
6             Please refer to the Ministry of Health website www.moh.gov.sg for the latest update on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus situation.
