Philippine Coast Guard rescues injured crew of a Chinese cargo

Port Area, Manila – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued an injured crew of a Chinese cargo vessel “MV Wuzhou 8” along the vicinity waters off Corregidor Island, Cavite on 12 January 2020.

According to the initial investigation, a Chinese national named Pu Jian accidentally fell into the cargo hold and incurred head injury while on duty.

Immediately, PCG Surface Support Force (SSF) dispatched BRP Malabrigo (MRRV-4402) to conduct medical evacuation.

BRP Malabrigo arrived at the Cunanan Wharf, PCG National Headquarters today, 13 January 2020 and successfully evacuated the injured Chinese crew. He was properly turned over to an ambulance that transported him to a nearby hospital for further medical assistance.
