Thomas Kazakos is again in the presidency of the ECSA State Aid Committee

At the General Assembly of the European Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) in Brussels, where Cyprus Shipping was represented by the immediately former President of the Shipping Chamber Mr. Philippos Philis and the Director General of the Chamber, Mr. Kazakos (part of the Cyprus delegation), was unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the Union State Aid Committee.

The important re-election of Mr. Kazakos, for the third time in a row, further strengthens the practical participation of Cyprus and the Chamber in the formulation of the European Shipping policy, through the work of the Commission in relation to the European Union guidelines on state aid in Shipping, ensuring an attractive and reliable tax environment for European shipowners and ship managers.

This positive development comes to complete another success for the Cyprus Shipping at European level, especially with the simultaneous election yesterday of Mr. Philippos Philis as the new President of the Union, who is expected to take office in January 2022.
