Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister presents the new tender document for the Cyprus-Greece ferry connection in Athens, London and Brussels

The Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister Vassilis Demetriades is traveloing today, December 2, 2021 to Athens where he will present at a special event at the premises of the Piraeus Port Authority (PPA), to transporters and journalists, the new tender document for the Cyprus-Greece ferry connection. During his visit, the Shipping Deputy Minister will have contacts with representatives of the shipping industry and will attend the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards award ceremony.

Mr. Vassiliades will then travel to London to attend the 32nd General Assembly of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Within the framework of the General Assembly, elections will be held for the election of new members of the Council of the Organization, where Cyprus is claiming re-election as a member of the Council of the Organization.

On December 8, the Shipping Deputy Minister will travel to Brussels to take part in the work of the EU Council of Transport Ministers, representing Cyprus in matters related to maritime transport.

It is noted that on the sidelines of his presence in London and Brussels, Mr. Demetriades will have bilateral contacts with his counterparts from inside and outside the EU as well as with other shipping agents aimed at building partnerships and promoting the positions of Cyprus on various issues, covering global and European shipping.
