The Shipping Office of the Embassy of Cyprus in Athens, organized on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Athens an event in the context of continuous information and consultation with the shipping community.

The participants had the opportunity to be informed by officials of the Cyprus Shipping Ministry about the long-term strategy of the Cyprus Shipping “SEAchange2030”, while the proposals submitted by the European Commission for the decarbonisation of shipping were discussed and analysed, which are included in the general package of proposals “Fit for-55” in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

Recognising that the shipping sector operates in an ever-changing environment with several challenges, the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry has formulated an innovative and long-term plan, aiming to make Cyprus shipping even more flexible and competitive but mainly resistant to crises and effective in challenges.

In the context of the extroversion promoted by the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry, systematic consultation with the shipping industry is a priority, so as to enable the recording and analysis of the challenges faced by shipping worldwide.
