Ancoria Insurance supports the Cyprus shipping industry by granting three full scholarships


For a third straight year Ancoria Insurance Public Ltd continues its support of the Cyprus shipping industry by granting three full scholarships.  The successful recipients for 2021 Michalis Menelaou, Panayiota Pari and Sophie Eleftheriou have been granted full scholarships for the seven subjects required to undergo the Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE) for Membership (MICS) to the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS).

The Chairwoman of the ICS Cyprus Branch Ms. Christina Christoforou commented that “By awarding these scholarships Ancoria is helping students to concentrate on what is important for them; Education. We therefore need to thank Ancoria for their financial generosity to help people come closer to their goals and open-up for them a bright career path by becoming Members of ICS UK. Members of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers are an internationally recognised network of shipping professionals who have proven knowledge, competence and understanding of the broad spectrum of shipping business and who continuously work to improve professional and ethical standards in the industry. These scholarships will open a door and the prospect of a brighter future and will play a key role in shaping all these successful candidates into successful persons in the future. The ICS Scholarships Program is part of Ancoria Insurance Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and complements the mission of its main shareholder, the Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation, in supporting education. The Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation, was established in 2007 with the purpose to facilitate the education of high calibre students that have exhibited excellence through their academic achievements and has so far granted thousands of scholarships globally.
